City centre is expensive.
When I visit Milan I travel a few miles out of town and stay at the hotel St. Estorgio in Vimacarte. It’s north-east of the city and close to the Race track at Monza. It’s even better if you enjoy F1 motor racing.

In June 06 I stayed in hotel Zurigo, rather central, no problem.
at 79 euros B+B double room. It was not a super place, but it was really ok for the money. (their prices used to vary according to dates you wanted to book and I booked long in advance).http://BreraHotels.com/zurigo
